Portage Lake - Maine

CABINS

All our cabins are complete with housekeeping items such as dishes, pots & pans, silverware, dish towels, microwave, stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, bed linens, etc. Each cabin features a front porch facing the lake. Our cozy cabins all have comfortable antique furniture, antique cooking stove and some lovely homemade country quilts. Outside each cabin you will find lawn chairs, a picnic table and a barbecue grill. Our largest cabin is wheelchair accessible from the parking area.

Cabin # 1 - lots of privacy and comfort

The BIRDS NEST (formally known as the honeymoon suite or Cabin #1) has been completely renovated with knotted pine ceiling and walls, a new kitchenette, a ceiling light/fan, and new heater. (For those of you who have visited here before, yes, we left the antique wood stove!). This cabin for two is in a secluded area next to the lake and is the perfect place for a first or second honeymoon or to spend quality time with a loved one. This Bird's Nest cabin is decorated with a sunflower and birds nest theme which shows a bright and airy atmosphere. If privacy is what you are looking for, this could be it.

Cabin # 2 overlooking the lake

The MOOSE SHED (formally Cabin #2) - which is our middle cabin - will sleep 8. Sleeping accommodations are two separate bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other has bunk beds. A cozy loft has two twin beds, and a daybed with a hidden trundle bed is in the living room. The full kitchen has an antique cook stove, a propane cook stove and heater and all your dishes, pot & pans. Along with a Moose theme, we have also decorated with a geese theme.

Cabin # 3 - lots of room - sleeps 7

The BEAR DEN (formally Cabin #3) - is our larger cabin - will sleep 7/8. The sleeping accommodations in this cabin have two separate bedrooms with bunk beds in each, plus a loft with two twin beds, and a futon in the living room. The full kitchen is complete with a propane cook stove, and wood and propane heaters for total comfort. Along with a bear theme, we have decorated this cabin with Coca Cola memorabilia.

New Bunkhouse - lots of room - sleeps 4
The FISHING SHACK (formally the Guesthouse) is located directly behind the bathhouse and boasts knotted pine walls and ceiling. It has 4 built-in bunks, with a large new kitchen/living room area just added. It is heated with a wall propane heater that makes this cabin really cozy, and the ceiling light/fan helps control the temperature. A cozy get-a-way for all seasons.

BATHHOUSE

a nice hot tub session following a day of fun

Our modern bathhouse is wheelchair accessible and contains 2 full bathrooms with hot showers and lots of clean towels; a laundry room is available for our weekly guests, and a hot tub for your comfort and pleasure.

All privately owned boats, canoes & kayaks, and other water craft may be launched at our beach; we do not provide dock space; we encourage larger or faster water-craft to enjoy more appropriate waters. Maine now requires out-of-state boats to have a $20 decal attached; the money goes toward prevention of importation of milfoil. Decals are available at the Portage Lake general store. You must not launch any watercraft until properly inspected by owner.

"FULL CAMP - FOUR CABIN SPECIAL"
(sleeps 23, with 3 full kitchens and 1 kitchenette)
- $1700 per week (which is about $74 per guest per week).

There's something here for everyone and every season.
